Welcome to the Bluegrass Adoption Support Network

Featured

Bluegrass Adoption Support Network was started by a group of adoptive parents & professionals to connect adoptive families with each other and resources here in Central Kentucky.   Adoption is not a race or a marathon; it is a journey that has just begun once you finish paperchasing.  The real work begins when you bring your child home.  Our children are survivors and we are here to help you, help them thrive as well as survive.

BASN is proud to welcome Kathleen Morris to Lexington for a 1-day seminar on dealing with Sensory Issues.  Many children deal with Sensory Issues, including foster and adopted children and children who were born prematurely.  This conference is designed to give parents, teachers and professionals hands-on tools for helping children thrive in their everyday lives. Kathleen Morris holds a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and has been in practice for over 30 years. Kathleen established the first sensory integration clinic in Dallas, Texas in 1990, and expanded her private practice offering OT, PT, ST and Cranial-Sacral therapies. Kathleen founded the Pediatric Network Foundation in 1998 establishing a preschool for children with sensory issues, and is currently the editor of Sensory Integration Focus Magazine. Kathleen has presented over 300 workshops at local, regional, national and international conferences presenting training for caregivers, physicians and therapists regarding sensory issues.
